Holly, Chris, and twins!

Holly, Chris, Emme, Bode, and I had a great time during this photoshoot! The twins are just 6 months old and as beautiful as can be. They really enjoy playing with each other. We got a pleasant surprise at the end when grandma and grandpa came and we invited them to be in the photos. It is great to see all the generations together. Thanks, Holly and Chris!

Darlene and Nick's family photos

Family photos make wonderful gifts for any holiday or anniversary! I photographed Darlene and Nick's engagement and wedding photos two years ago. It was wonderful to see them and their family again for this photo session. I had a great time photographing the entire family together and in smaller groups. They are a beautiful group and the colors they chose for the shoot were perfect. I hope to see them soon for a shoot with Nick's side of the family.

Nicole and Andrew had a beautiful October wedding at a family friend's home. He owns several acres with mature trees, grass, and an outside bar and dance floor. There could be no better place for a wedding!

Most of these images are from Kassie and Chet's album. I design all albums in Photoshop using the images clients choose. I was able to remove Chet's sunburn he got earlier that day playing golf -eek! All the best to a wonderful couple!

Gina and Ace were a joy to photograph! Ace has his mom's beautiful brown eyes and he was so sweet and full of joy. They had fun looking at the butterflies and playing in the children's area at the Botanical Gardens.

Chris' family is from Scotland, so they dressed in traditional clothing and had some wonderful dancing. Mary and Chris danced the ever sultry tango for their first dance. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!

Paul Stout, owner of Stout Glass www.stoutglass.com makes luminous, beautiful glass sculptures, sinks, tiles, and wall hangings. The glassblowing process is amazing, labor intensive, and super hot! I can see why they do most of their production in the winter. The pieces require years of experience and a cohesive team to create. Check out Paul's work on his website and consider adding a piece to your home.

Peru!

My husband and I went to Peru in June. The highlights were definitely Machu Picchu and the floating islands on Lake Titicaca. The people were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing - really really good! Photos cannot begin to express the magic and beauty of Machu Picchu.

Michelle and her two girls are absolutely beautiful, charming, and full of energy.

They generously bought this portrait session at an auction to benefit Peyton Rudd, a 7 year old girl who was undergoing treatments for cancer. Sadly, she passed on in October. My prayers and hopes for peace go out to her family.

A German Christmas

My husband and I spent Christmas in Germany this year with his family. These are pictures from the Christmas markets which are full of arts and crafts, hot spiced wine, and wonderful food. Very quaint!

Cold Wet Nose - Joey gets a massage!

My husband and I were both jealous as our dog, Joey, got a massage on Saturday. Suzanne, owner of Cold Wet Nose Animal Massage, and my good friend, was at the Botanical Gardens Reindog event donating a portion of her services to benefit the Humane Society. Isn't Joey so beautiful?! He seemed to really enjoy it.

Is that Angelina & Brad and is it 1940? I loved Kasandra and Ryan's theme complete with old cars, 40s hair, hats, outfits, and even swing music and dancing. The guests also came dressed in theme. Kas and Ryan are very sweet together as you can see from their photos. They even sang to each other at the end of the night.

Shannon & Chris got married at the best wedding venue in Tucson! Well, perhaps I'm biased since it is where I got married 2 years ago. They are a very sweet couple and had a beautiful wedding. Jill, Jason, and Jaggar had a great time playing at the park on the swings, slides, and just dancing. Jason and Jill are enthusiastic and adorable parents and enjoyed laughing with Jaggar. He was shy at first, but warmed up later, enabling me to get some great close-ups of his big blue eyes.

Ashley & Josh's wedding was all about the bling! I loved the crystals hanging from the trees outside, and also from the ceiling inside. It was the most incredible decoration I've seen! Her shoes were no exception. Ashley glued each individual stone onto her shoes. Incredible! Right before the ceremony began, it was sprinkling. We were worried, but it stopped just in time and left a beautiful rainbow. Magic!

So, I'm really behind on blogging! I am blogging backwards to catch up on everything I missed in the last couple of months.... In July, my husband and I went to visit his family in Germany and we took a side trip to Barcelona. It was wonderful to see his family after almost two years since our last visit. Spain was so beautiful. We saw so much incredible art including several of Gaudi's buildings, the Miro museum, and the Dali museum (so wonderfully eccentric and just plain cool)!

Shannon, Chris, and I had a great time doing this shoot near the Tucson Museum of Art. They were both really easy going and nice to work with (and look how great they look). Check out Shannon's gorgeous hair! I'm looking forward to their November wedding, which will be held at the same place I got married almost 2 years ago! I may be biased, but I think they chose the best place in town :).

Cori's mom and I taught at the same high school, down the hall from each other, for several years. Cori is just as animated and sweet as her mom and I was so happy to be their photographer! Cori and Jeremy are a very sweet couple and totally adore each other. There were lots of laughs and tears during the ceremony and throughout the night. Congratulations Cori and Jeremy!!

Kasandra & Ryan's Engagement 1940s style

I felt like I was in a time warp on Sunday when I photographed Kasandra and Ryan's engagement session. Their wedding (which we are SO excited for), will have a 1940s Hollywood Glam theme. Kasandra and Ryan looked like models who stepped out of a time machine! We had an absolute blast going all over downtown including infront of one of the Broadway Murals by artist Stephen Farley, titled "Windows to the Past Gateway to the Future." While there, we had a very serendipitous moment. A man in a pink 1930 Ford Model A drove by and we all waved our arms for him to stop. Amazingly, he did! Better yet, he allowed us to take photos on, in and around his car!! I changed the car color to red since that is Kasandra's wedding color. Thank you, Wade, for being so generous!

Rachel and Adam had a beautiful wedding last weekend at the Stillwell House. I absolutely loved her dress and the bridesmaid dresses! The hot pink and orange colors on the dresses and the hanging sphere lights created a gorgeous spring sunset atmosphere. Congratulations Rachel and Adam!

Buddy and I went downtown to take his senior photos. My favorites are of him on the railroad tracks with the sunset. He is very easy going and we had fun wandering around and changing from tux (with sneakers - I love it!) to jeans.

This is my third shoot with Denise, Greg, and Cole. We are making a first year of life album. Cole is a calm and beautiful baby and he loved taking a bath with his mom. When he's old enough to walk, maybe we'll do some bath photos outside with the family dog!

Zenia & Chris had a very small wedding on Wednesday (just them, the officiant, and her 3 daughters). It was a sweet and meaningful ceremony which included the participation of all 3 girls. I thought it was wonderful how they were each such an important part of the event.

My husband and I went skiing this weekend with some close friends in Flagstaff. I stayed on the bunny slope and plowed my way very slowly down since it was only my 3rd time skiing and I'm still pretty wary!

This is the second time I've photographed this family. The first time, we did photos of Becky and Randy's 8 month old daughter who is now 2 years old. This time, we did maternity portraits for their second baby due in March. There is something so beautiful about a pregnant woman, which, I am sure is why everyone says they have a glow. What a beautiful family this is! Six month old Molly is very easy-going and was curious about the fake grass (I love it: always green, no grass stains, and no bugs!). She knew there was something not quite right about the stuff. Susie and Ted did a great job of playing with her and had a lot of fun reading to her and holding her in the air.

Newborn, baby Tristan is just 6 weeks old. Mom, Tracy, is so relaxed for a new mother and seemed very at ease with the baby. We took some beautiful breastfeeding photos that show the connection between her and the baby.

Dad, Frank, was also very sweet with Tristan and I was surprised to learn that we went to high school together! Small world!

The cliche, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" certainly applies to this family. Baby Sophie is just as cute and goofy as her parents, laughs are endless as are the silly expressions. Teresa and Joe are adorable with Sophie and obviously have fun with her. She is such a mellow and easy-going baby, but at the same time, is full of joy. The images of Teresa and Sophie laughing together crack me up! I hope to do her one year old photos too!

Olivia, Isabella, their mom (Leda), two puppies, and I had a great time with this photo shoot. The girls ran and played with the puppies and had a blast on the monkey bars. Shoots like these remind me of the energy, magic, and joy of childhood. These are the feelings I strive to show in my child portraits. Leda even tried the monkey bars and climbed a tree for a few shots! I think the girls enjoyed seeing their mom play.

Madeline, her parents, and I went to the zoo for her toddler portraits. She is such a beautiful, sweet, and inquisitive little girl (look at those big blue eyes!). There were many animals out at that time, but I think the giraffes were among her favorites. I had a great time photographing this loving family.

I am honored to be working with Denise and Greg to photograph Cole's first year of life. We began with Denise's maternity photographs and will be doing his third session soon. It is so nice to work with this couple who is obviously so happy to have a new addition to their family. One of the beautiful things about new baby photography is seeing the bonding between the parents and the baby. It is wonderful to witness this and capture it through the lens.

Brie and Tim's wedding was held at Brie's parent's home. It was so incredibly beautiful with hundred of white lights overhead, a pond, and an outdoor fireplace. This was a very outgoing, very fun and spirited group! The party continued long into the night and everyone was dancing. My co-photographer, Cat, and I really liked this couple for their fun loving and kind spirits!

What a perfect time for a Tucson wedding. Andrea and Dan are a beautiful couple and their wedding day was just as beautiful. They did the most graceful dip for me which is now the first image on my website and soon to be on my new business cards. I can't wait to work on their album!
